Aqua-fresh
A tiny spark is all it takes to learn something new and exciting. The spark could be a future win.

Converge or diverge
Company strategy or farming methods tend to progress somewhere, but only when the current status does not give peace in mind. With an open eye it is easy to see, salmon farming technology and strategy are now diverging. The past standards are not good enough. The same is visible with shrimp farming, but these practices are converging into more common techniques. Again, the past standards are not good enough. Nevertheless, it is a positive development within the aquaculture sector, and it is good learning for those who sit back and reflect on these developments.
Ocean Farming or Land-based Farming
This week, the Stiim conference in Stavanger, Norway, showed innovation in salmon farming technics. Question to answer, how do we farm fish in the future? Long term trending show indoor farming, but old habits refuse to give up the ocean. There are some parallel themes with shrimp farming. Do we stick to an open, exposed pond or move indoors to a controlled environment with high intensification? The same question asked the same answer given. Reduce biological risk by increasing the technology input.
Eco Pro one of our contribution to Circular Economy
Over the last years, Sea Farms Nutrition Ltd has focused on alternative proteins and protein efficiency. The thoughts and executed ideas have created products for inclusion in food, livestock feed, pet food and aquatic feed. The primary source and ideas have been well-documented bi-products from shrimp farming. In some products, we include insects from the sea or land.

For Sea Farms Nutrition Ltd as a UK based company in the Seafresh Group, the sustainability aspect of the business is critical in the supply chain. Integrity is at our heart, and doing the right things is paramount.

Powder or Liquid?
We can liquid and powder. SFN products come in liquid form or powder. Adding the ingredient could happen in a traditional mixing process or into a preconditioner or extruder. There is no limit for applications and no limits for use.

Testing
SFN take pride in the testing of our ingredients. Using the product in aquatic feed, companion animals, and human food application shows ease to use and good performance. Good for the environment and good for business.

New and novel, but still too expensive
New and novel, but still too expensive for the least cost formulation practices. SFN does have a focus on future alternative proteins for our aquaculture farmed animals. Searching the web shows many good sources and alternatives, insects, algae, mesopelagic fish, and more, but most of them cannot compete with soy, trimmings, and fish meal. The farmers and feed companies can only add these novel proteins into their formulas because they want them, but yet they cannot make short-term gains by the addition. Doing the right things cost, but it does not mean it is the wrong thing to do.
